FA Dr. Jonah Aiyabei elected as Chairperson of ICIFA and FA Einstein Kihanda appointed as Vice-Chairperson of ICIFA

FA Dr. Jonah Aiyabei was elected as the Chairperson of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) during its 2019 Annual General Meeting held on the 28th of June 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nairobi. Prior to his new position, Dr. Aiyabei was the Vice Chairman of ICIFA, having served in the position since June of 2016. He succeeds FA Job Kihumba after expiry of his term as Chairperson of the Institute in accordance with the Investment and Financial Analysts Act (No. 13 of 2015). Other Council members elected at the Annual General Meeting were FA Einstein Kihanda, FA Leah Nyambura and FA Dr. Duncan Elly Ochieng’.

FA Dr. Jonah Aiyabei is currently the Director of Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas (MIOG), Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), having been the Trust Secretary of KPC Pension Schemes. Dr. Aiyabei has over 16 years’ of experience as a trainer in Finance and Investment. He also serves as a Council member of Mount Kenya University and a member of kasneb Technical Examination Committee. He holds PhD in Business Administration from JKUAT and an MBA from Kenyatta University and is a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA).

During the Annual General Meeting, Dr. Aiyabei expressed his commitment to ensuring the growth of the profession affirming his invaluable role in the enactment of the Investments and Financial Analysts Act (No.13 of 2015).

In a Council meeting held on the 2nd of July 2019 at ICIFA offices, FA Einstein Kihanda was appointed the Vice-Chairperson of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (ICIFA). He takes over from FA Dr. Jonah Aiyabei who served as the Vice-chairperson up to 28 June 2019.

FA Einstein Kihanda is currently the Chief Executive Officer of ICEA LION Asset Management (ILAM) and is the Chairman of the Fund Managers Association (FMA). He has more than 20 years of experience in investment analysis and management, developing a diverse range of technical and leadership skills within the investment industry. The pillars of his career have been professionalism, integrity, ethics, dedication, diligence, commitment and consistent focus on the client.

FA Kihanda holds an MSc Finance from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland and MSc Management and Organizational Development from USIU. He is a member of the Trade, Technology and Innovations Committee of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). He is also a Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (CIFA) and serves as a member of the Professional Standards Committee of ICIFA.

FA Dr. Aiyabei and FA Kihanda will provide leadership to the Council of ICIFA as listed below;
